The future of the office has been one of the business topics debated again and again during the coronavirus pandemic (Greig Cameron writes). With many people working from home for prolonged periods, conversations about how and when offices will be used are taking place in all sorts of places, from virtual boardrooms to breakfast tables.

Most of the studies produced suggest that a majority of people want to continue to be able to work flexibly. Perhaps encouragingly for property investors and transport operators, many respondents also want to spend some time in the office, although it may only be a day or two each week instead of five or more.
